Hello all. Sorry for not updating in such a long time. Been soooo very busy D=. I promise when Thursday is over, I'll flood this like crazy. =D
Meanwhile, Installation is turning up to be a big headache (I meant busy, not that I hate it or anything.) There are even internal barriers to overcome now. Hopefully we (as in all of us who knows what I'm talking about) will be able to pull through this successfully.
I saw on Jean's blog of her making a bet with someone to stop smoking. Normally when I tell people I know and care for to stop smoking, some of them think that I'm just against them smoking. I'm actually against smoking in general.
My Grandfather used to smoke. Since he was young. All of us (Grandchildren + Parents and Uncles and Aunties) used to tell him not to. At one point in time, we thought that we had succeeded. However, we noticed that we frequented the toilet very often, and soon found cigarettes in the toilet bowl.
It took us another few years from then to convince him to completely give up smoking, which he finally did.
But it was too late.
A few years later, he went for a checkup. Some routine stuff, and the doctor certified him completely healthy. We breathed a sigh of relief.
A few months later, he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. And not exactly an early stage. He was given only about a year left to live.
We bought all sorts of herbal medicine and what not we could get our hands on to prolong it. We managed to fight it for a while. But not for long. Soon, it spread to his brain.
January 2004. Chinese New Year took place in January. My grandfather decided to get out of bed to take family photos with the whole family there.
February 2004, he passed away.
I will never forget him. And for every person I know smoking has taken away from me, my hate for it grew. I'll never let anyone I know and care for ever smoke.
