Another year. Didn't get a present this time. Contemplated, but decided not to. Good luck to the two of you... Ahh. I have 5 Jian Baos left to do. (Actually I just finished my 2nd. Haha...)
I just realised that Ben & Jerry's Cone Day has been destroyed by AP prep D=
Note: The following video is NSFW, or NSFK (Not safe for kids. If you ain't sure, you can tag me and ask me.)
Recently, Robin Antin, "founder" of The PussyCat Dolls, founded another girl band targeted (supposedly) at 8-18 year old girls. After watching their video above, I am very disturbed as to what 8 year old girls actually listen to nowadays.
First, they dance in little miniskirts, and then, they lose it. I mean, I doubt I want to see any 8 year old taking off their clothes and shaking their hips anytime. I mean, surely, which kind of parents would want these b*tches revolutionary group of sluts (I quote from MadTv's Parody of their show) to be their kid's role models? Honestly, has the MTV Generation degraded so much?
You know what pisses me off? People like you. Who think you are so darn important, and always right. Don't even stop to think that what you're doing is wrong. You know what pisses me off? You. You jolly well do not bother be on my blog either.
4 Minutes (feat. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland) - Madonna
Recently, the Interact Club of NUS High had our very first Installation Ceremony (27th March 2008). Planning started out at about 2-3 weeks before that.
On the day itself, to be put nicely, as said by Diao Wang Di, it was "flamboyant", among other much nicer comments, such as "The food was good". So, here I'll do a run through of what happened on that day.
We met in the Lower Auditorium at 4:30p.m. By the time everyone got there, it was 5p.m. Yayness. 1 more hour.
We got everything together, gave out the drinks, and settled any other loose ends. Such as "Omg. Where's this?" "Oh no! My tie!" Thanks to Shawn for helping me tie my tie properly though =D
Finally, it was 5:50p.m. The first few guests from other schools started trickling in. Sadly, no... Erm... "Chio Bus". Sorry to tell all readers that my wedding date has once again been pushed forward.
At 6p.m., our emcee, Stephanie, which may I add is an amazing emcee, announced the arrival of our Guest-of-Honour, Dr. Steven Wong, President of the Rotary Club of Victoria, Singapore. (I think I have typed that phrase countless of times ><) Dr. Wong and Dr. Hang. NUS High School walk of Doctorates.
According to Ben, Dr. Wong apparently has been standing outside all along waiting for us =X Oops.
Smile =D For the camera =D
I hurriedly find my seat as the GOH walks in followed by Dr. Hang and Melanie among others. Too bad Mr. Suresh didn't come.
"The Pro Term Vice President shall now come and give a toast to his Excellency, President S R Nathan."
(Walks onto stage. Raises neWater bottle.)
"To the President."
Everybody realizes that they were supposed to be on their feet. Uh oh.
So everyone rushed to stand on their feet and opening their NeWater bottles. Raising my bottle once again with my face hopefully not red, "To the President."
"I must remember to say 'Guests, please rise.'" x100
It was then for IPP Benjamin Wong to make his toast to Rotary Club of Victoria (RCV), followed by Melanie's toast to the guests.
"To the guests."
"To the guests." The guests echoed.
Hahahaha...
"We shall toast to ourselves =D"
Following that was the roll call. Kinda reminds you of hostel no? "Please sign the roll call paper by 10:30p.m."
Incidentally, a few of the above schools do stay in our school hostel
Following this was DIRECTOR Ong Eng Hock's speech =D
I found many shots of Director Ong... I guess our photographer is very interested in him... No?
Followed by Dr. Hang's address.
Dr. Hang and his address. Not the one with the postal code la u.
Following this was the presentation of Certificate of Charter.
Melanie escorting Dr. Wong and PP Pereira.
From PP Pereira to Dr. Wong
From Dr. Wong to Dr. Hang
Following this was the Induction of the Executive Committee.
Here's when something happened again.
"Dr. Wong will now install the Charter President and her Board of Directors. Let us welcome them on stage."
*Applause*
"Charter President, Melanie Chua"
Because I escorted Dr. Hang for his address, I was on the right block of seats. Melanie was right next to me as she had just escorted Dr. Wong and PP Ronald Pereira.
We were supposed to be on the left side. Oops.
So, we walked from one end of the auditorium to the other end, in front of all the guests. As Melanie would put it, so unglam =D
Melanie, getting her OLYMPICS GOLD MEDAL =D
"Vice President, Kenneth Cheah"
I hate my lazy eye. And my fringe. I'm in need of a hairstyle which I seriously does not need combing.
Sadly, most of the photos from then forth were butt shots D=
I think I'm the laggiest in this picture D=
Following all that, was the board member's pledge.
In which, Melanie actually forgot a line.
I... Uh... Pledge to... Um..
Thankfully, no one noticed =D
Melanie reciting. With her hairstyle, which I quote, was thought to be the "latest fashion" by the guests =D
Following this, was the induction of the rest of the members.
Eeks. My horrible voice echoed throughout the auditorium as I said their names ><
Can't wait to let go of Melanie's hand 0.o
After that, Melanie decided to look for her copy of the speech to ensure she does not leave anything. A move, she herself, deemed once again, unglam
Melanie leading the Charter Members in pledge.
Following this was the introduction of the Rotarian Advisors and Teacher Advisor.
Oh. Do note that I said Rotarian AdvisorS. One was on a date. Therefore, only one picture is available.
He's still single I think. So he wasn't on a date. =D
Uh oh. Someone in the 4th row yawning. Tsk.
Following this was Melanie's speech. In which, she was very, very nervous. In the words of everyone at least. Never mind! For next year, we shall rehearse from December =DD
Again with her "latest fashion" hairstyle =D
It was then the unveiling of the theme. Which, sad to say, didn't occur as planned.
Eugene couldn't find the file on his computer T_T
So, Melanie panicked. And so she got Dr. Wong to give his address first.
O.O I found more picture of Dr. Wong than Director Ong. Hahaha... I better not reveal our photographer's name =DD
During his speech, Shawn and Roy rushed backstage only to reveal that the file was on his desktop -.-
Thankfully, it was coming to the end. Melanie and I were sitting downstage, waiting for Dr. Wong's speech to end. Suddenly.
"Uh Oh. Where's the Token of Appreciation?!"
Hahahaha... We quickly SMSed Ms. Koh and she didn't reply, but just kept giving us that smile. *Pressure* Hahaha..
So, we had our unveiling of theme after Dr. Wong's address. Sadly, no picture of it.
Thankfully, the Token was found backstage *phew*. So, I gave my Vote of Appreciation.
Me and my Vote of Appreciation.
Melanie handing over her Token of Appreciation
Then, it was time to sing our song. "At the Beginning".
So we planned that Ms Koh entered at the second verse, to "shock" everyone.
Turns out, we were really shocked. When the second verse was playing, Ms Koh came in.
And her microphone was muted.
Hahaha..
Our real looks of shock. Masked by smiles =D
Me un-muting the microphone
After that, we had our School Song.
Led by Melanie. And sadly, me. D=
I never want to ever hold a microphone again.
Our very wonderful pianist. Krystal. And we all didn't realise the synthesizer was on "Harp" =D
And thus, we have come to the end of our Installation '08 =D
I shall not posts picture of food as I'm already hungry. So I shall not make you all hungry too. (Actually I haven't got any photos of food.)
Yay. ExCo =D
Entire board except Melanie and I. We were downstairs with guests.
One of the most enjoyable days of my life. Cause the food was good =D
